Glastonbury right on cue to retain snooker title

Glastonbury B are the new champions of Division One of the Eastbourne & District Snooker League Division after a 4-1 home victory over mid-table Nuthouse A.

The 2012/2013 winning team features Paul Grimes, Matt Bray, Martin Holmes, Martin Wright, Spencer and Ben Dain.

Hailsham MI C secured the second spot with a 5-0 win over Angling Club A thanks to a 43 break from Robin Thomas, a 46 break from Pete Watson and Ash Bull weighed in with an impressive 52 break.

Dolphin A cemented a top three finish by extending Eastbourne Workingmen’s A relegation woes in a 5-0 defeat. Meads A remain fourth despite a 4-1 win at Glastonbury A - Richard Barnicoat claimed the only home point with a walkover.

Wins by Dan Carr, Connor McLean and Steve Jones earned HMI A a 3-2 away victory over Polegate Legion A for whom Gary Jones and Paul Pickett pocketed victories for the Legion.

While Seaford Con Club travelled to Eastbourne to take on Glastonbury F and came away with a 4-1 win. Mike Goodwin prevented the clean sweep with a 60-40 victory over Sean Payne in the third frame.

At the bottom of the table, Nuthouse B could fought to stay up after beating rivals Fishermans E 4-1.

Jimmi Simpson prevented the whitewash in frame five with a 57-19 win over Pete Roberts.

HMI Rutherfords were challenged to play without a full team yet managed to eke out a 3-2 home win over Glastonbury C.

Bruce Meeks outpointed Damien Hilder 55-31 and Eddie Davis with a walkover took Glastonbury’s points. Dave Crouch, Paul White and Dave Smith took the Rutherfords wins.
