Glastonbury begin snooker season with Seaford Whitewash

Glastonbury B, last season’s division one champions, began this campaign with a resounding 5-0 whitewash of Seaford Con Club.

Paul Grimes 80-24, Matt Bray 82-33, Martin Holmes 71-40 (46 Break), Ben Dain 62-20, Spencer (Hoppy) Dain 68-29.

Last season’s runners-up Dolphin A recorded a 4-1 home win over Meads A. Kevin Walbrin for the Meads A defeated the Dolphin A skipper Peter Buckland 56-21 for the solitary away win.

Hailsham MI C travelled to the Nuthouse to face the B team. The HMIC outfit recorded a 3-2 victory.

Glastonbury F entertained Workingmens Club A. The workers recorded a 4-1 win. Ian Hunt pocketed the only home win 50-20 against Brian Bearne.

Glastonbury C, last season’s fourth placed team, began with a 3-2 away victory against Angling Cub A.

Ryan Knapman sealed the team win in the last frame on the black 42-32 over Dave Pain.

Hailsham MI A began their season with a 4-1 home win over newly promoted Glastonbury A.

Richard Barnicoat outpointed Dan Carr 64-19 for the visitor’s solitary away victory.

Newly-promoted Fishermen’s E found it tough going, losing 3-2 at home to the experienced Polegate Legion A.

Dave Proud pulled-off the only played win for the Fish E team defeating the Legion Skipper Mark Saunders 56-35
