The 2014 stock car and banger season comes to an end at Arlington Raceway this Saturday (25th), as Spedeworth celebrate another incredible year of racing at Eastbourne with their traditional Gala Night event.

As always with this meeting, it is headlined by the sport’s big name stars in the Unlimited National Bangers, features also the Historic Stock cars and concludes with a mammoth firework display.

This meeting has thrown up numerous memories, none more so than the exploits of stalwart Dave King.

His huge hit at the end of a home straight in his classic American car was a particular highlight in 2009, while Dan Weeks gave a devastating display in his American classic back in 2009.

Also on the bill are the nostalgic Historic Stock Cars, who are always entertaining wherever they appear. They are just that little bit extra special round Arlington Stadium, as you can really get up close to these old beasts as they roar past with their brilliant sounding engines, especially coming from the Triumph’s that many of these drivers prefer.

Traditionally, the Gala Night display being so close to Bonfire Night is always the largest of the year and will be sure to entertain.

We have already seen one great firework display at Arlington Stadium this year in September to celebrate the final Wednesday night meeting of the year.

Racing starts at 6.00pm with turnstiles open at 4.30pm.
