Fishermen E sink to Division Two

Glastonbury B, the potential champions of Division One of the Eastbourne and District Snooker League, took another step towards retaining their title with a 4-1 away win over Hailsham MI A.

The highlight of the match was a 93 break by the Glastonbury B captain, Matt Bray.

Hailsham Memorial Institute C team enhanced their second place with a 4-1 away win over sixth-placed Glastonbury C. The near top-of-the-table match between Dolphin A and Polegate Legion A resulted in a narrow 3-2 home win for Dolphin A, Paul Binks for Dolphin pocketing a 40 break in his 61-51 loss to Gary Jones.

Meads A took all five frames off four man HMI Rutherfords. Ivor Standen claimed the walkover point in frame five. The mid-table match between Seaford Con Club and Glastonbury A went the way of the Con Club 3-2, Mick Walsh winning the vital last frame 52-44 against Tokki Yamaguchi. Glastonbury F were the visitors at the Nuthouse to take on the B Team, Hamish Hogg, Ian Hunt, Colin Sargent and Andy Simpson recording the 4-1 win for Glastonbury F.

The relegation match between Angling Club A and Workingmens A went the way of the Workers 3-2.

Nuthouse A entertained Fishermens E, the home team recording a 3-2 win. This loss by the Fishermens E condemned them to relegation into Division Two next season.
