Eastbourne tournament director Gavin Fletcher is confident the tennis fans of Eastbourne will continue to embrace the AEGON international.

Last year the joint ATP and WTA tournament saw Marion Bartoli capture her first Eastbourne title following a hard fought 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Petra Kvitova.

The women’s draw was boosted last year with the inclusion of Venus and Serena Williams. Both were knocked out at the quarter final stage.

Italian Andreas Seppi beat Janko Tipsarevic 7–6 (7–5), 3–6, 5–3 RET in the men’s final.

This year the players will be battling for over $1million in prize money.

Gavin Flecther, AEGON International Tournament Director said, “The tennis fans in the area have always embraced the event and I’m sure this year will be no exception.”
