Three players from Eastbourne Edge in-line skate hockey team were chosen to play for Great Britain u16 teams in the AAU Junior Olympics in Las Vegas in July.
At the event, Great Britain was represented by two u16 teams.
Edge player Cameron Brown played in the GB u16 Red team, while Andrew Bruce and Callum Donnelley played in the GB u16 Blue team.
The GB teams faced tough opposition throughout but were able to impress, as the standard of play was very high in the two tournaments played over two weeks.
In the first week the GB u16 Blue team did very well to come away with a copper award for finishing 4th overall.
In the second week it was
the turn of the GB u16 Red team, who were able to get the final. However, they were unable to get the final victory as they lost to a very strong US team, leaving with a well-earned silver medal.
It was a great experience for all three Edge players and the club was very proud to have their players representing Great Britain at such a high level at the 2014 AAU Junior Olympics.
Eastbourne Edge do their training at Cavendish sports centre, and new players are always welcome to come along .
