Eastbourne College’s Under 14 and Under 16 teams enjoyed a successful run in the Sussex County Cup last week, with the U16s taking the title.

The U16s met Chichester High School in the final, which kicked off at 2pm on Wednesday, March 14. Afer a slow start, Eastbourne College worked hard to bring the half time score to 8-8 before really pushing on in the second half. Eastbourne’s front five proved too much for Chichester to handle and they eventually took the title with a confident 20-8 victory.

The Under 14s put in an equally hard-working performance when they met Christ’s Hospital School in their final. Unfortunately though, they couldn’t match the success of the Under 16 squad as they missed out on the title, losing 22-10. Special mention must go to Eastbourne’s captain Harry Lloyd who, depsite picking up a black eye early on, put in a superb performance.
