Eastbourne Eagles have devised a plan that will ensure speedway at Arlington for next season.

It was been agreed that Trevor Geer and Martin Dugard will run a team that will compete in the lower ranked National League.

The Eagles’ place in the Elite League has been ‘put on ice’ for next season.

The National League is seen to be more affordable for the Eagles who will stage their home meetings on Sunday afternoons.

It’s quite a turnaround for the Eagles and will please speedway fans who have enjoyed the sport at Arlington since 1929.

Last week long-term promoter Bob Dugard said there was not even a glimmer of hope for the Eagles to compete next season due to recent financial loses.
