Eastbourne Eagles boss Trevor Geer believes his side will have to finish above Poole and Coventry if they are to land the Elite League title this season.
The Eagles ended the season as runners-up last year but the long-serving Eagles boss is determined his squad can go one better this season.
The Eagles posed for pictures at the press and practice day last weekend but Geer cannot wait for the serious action to start against Belle Vue tomorrow, Saturday night (tapes up 7.30pm).
“We have pieced together a very strong side,”Geer said.
“We know this is going to be a tough campaign. Poole and Coventry look very strong, particularly their top order, but we are going to be tough to beat, make no mistake.
“Lukas is back after his injury and Tim (Lahti) has impressed me immensely.
“We know the other lads very well and we all expect them to improve their average. It’s going to be a great season and we can’t wait.”
Skipper Cameron Woodward added, “We are still a bit bitter about last season but we were beaten by the better team in the end. This year we hope to go one better.”
