Eastbourne College Girls Hockey won the Sussex U19 Cup to add to the U18 Cup they won in October.
The College 1st XI faced Hurstpierpoint College in the final, having beaten St Bede’s 3–1 in a close semi-final. Following an impressive short corner, Eastbourne scored to make it 1-0 to the College after ten minutes. The last ten minutes were nervous times, with Hurst pushing for the equaliser and Eastbourne defending their slender lead. However the incredible work rate of the Eastbourne girls made the Hurst task too difficult and the College held on to record a memorable victory.
Earlier the U15 girls’ won their Sussex County Cup. They met Moira House in the final and following an early goal the College team, was put under considerable pressure. However, the College girls improved and scored a further three goals. Sadly the match ended early due to a nasty ankle injury to the Moira House goalkeeper. The final score was 4–0 to the U15s.
