PEVENSEY and Westham U10s (pictured left) finished a fabulous season by winning the Sedlescombe six-a-side tournament in style.
Put up against some really strong opposition, the team won all of their group games, conceding only one goal and scoring 16 to progress to the knock-out stages.
A quarter-final win over Hastings was followed by a closely-contested semi-final against a strong Ratton team.
Both teams played some great football in muddy conditions, but Pevensey snatched a last-gasp winner to reach the final against Ayelsford ‘Stripes’.
Pevensey went ahead through an early goal and that proved to be decisive as they won the game by the slight margin to take the title.
Congratulations must be given to all the youngsters who played their part in the fantastic tournament win: Jake Ward, Daniel Blackmore, Jack Hobden, Owen Jones, George Cook, Max Crowhurst, Euan Jackson and Jordan Ward.
