THE inaugural Sussex six-a-side Challenge Cup competition will be held on Sunday, March 25 at Falmer University, opposite the AMEX stadium, home of Brighton & Hove Albion.
The event will be in aid of the Noel Orphanage in Rwanda and Albion in the Community, the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion FC.
The money raised will help to provide support for the Point Foundation who in turn will use the proceeds to continue their excellent work of providing a better life for orphaned children of all ages.
Teams from all over Sussex are invited to take part in this showpiece event and battle it out for the much coveted trophy.
Afterwards, the teams, families and friends will be invited to the AMEX stadium for the presentations in a packed night of fun and charity. Organiser Soroosh Simaei, who runs the Gazette six-a-side fooyball league, said, “I urge everyone to join us in making this event a great success, whether you want to test yourself against the cream of the county or just be part of what I am sure will be a momentous occasion. “Over two years ago, while staging the Colin Johnson Trophy night, I met Luke Tyler of Albion in the Community and we have remained good friends ever since. Football is about making life-long friendships and now we are joining forces for a very worthwhile cause.”
Brighton and Hove Albion legend Gary Hart who plays for Eastbourne Borough now said, “This has the making of a fantastic event and I look forward to a memorable day”.
Kevin Delves of KD Butchers who are sponsoring the event said, “As a long life Brighton and Hove Albion fan, I am very proud to be associated with this tournament”
Entries for this one-off tournament will cost £40 and all proceeds will go to charity. To register your team or obtain an information pack, please call Soroosh on 07506434270 or Luke on 07860 861598.
