ST Bede’s teacher Scott Clark will captain Great Britain’s Veterans inline hockey team at this year’s World Championships.

Clark and his men will travel to Turin, Italy in search of a medal this week and the tournament will take place from May 25 to May 27.

This year’s competition will be played in the 2006 Olympic Ice Arena – minus the ice.

Inline hockey is an amateur sport (essentially ice hockey on roller blades), played by ever growing numbers (from young to old) and popular everywhere across the country and in every urban centre.

It is a fantastic sport for improving fitness levels but teaches discipline as well as a variety of motor skills.

Inline hockey is a popular activity in Eastbourne with the Eastbourne club running teams for all ages out of the Cavendish Sports Centre.

The Eastbourne club will again be running an inline hockey tournament at this year’s Eastbourne Extreme in July.
