All roads will lead to Smallfield Raceway, near Crawley, on Sunday, 18 as the UK’s Stock Car and Banger racing community come together in the name of charity, for the biggest meeting to be held at the track in its history.
“The Bears Challenge” is an annual charitable event full of great racing and massive crashing, where the huge crowds are always royally entertained.
In excess of 120 drivers from all different formulas and from right across England, Scotland and Ireland have generously agreed to give up their time to travel to Sussex in an attempt to raise as much money as possible for The Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital and Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.
Organised by the largest and most successful National Banger team in the country, The Bears, this meeting has been much anticipated since it was confirmed on the fixture list.
Local National Banger stars from Arlington, such as Steve Anscombe and Darren Terry, will be keen to impress at such a high profile event.
As well as a whole days’ worth of great full-contact Banger racing on offer, RaceQuip UK are ensuring a great family day out with added attractions including face painting, a fun fair with bouncy castle, clowns making balloons, meeting the drivers, pace car rides and even dropping the green flag to start a race.
Ticket prices include a donation to the hospital. For further details visit the hospital’s website at www.rockinghorse.org.uk/events/august.
A sell-out is expected, so arrive early. Racing starts at 11am.
