Champs stay top after Glastonbury whitewash

Glastonbury Snooker Club B Team, last season’s champions and current leaders of the first division of the Eastbourne Snooker League, maintained their top-spot with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over the Glastonbury F Team.

The derby match between the second place team HMI C and HMI A resulted in a narrow 3-2 win for the C Team.

Mark Sciancalepore, the HMI A captain, pocketed a 52 break on his way to a 73-28 win over Peter Watson.

Dolphin A fell further behind the leaders with a 3-2 home loss at the hands of HMI Rutherfords. Dave Crouch, Paul White and Dave Relf secured the winning frames for HMI Rutherfords.

Peter Buckland the Dolphin A captain and Nik Driver posted the Dolphin A wins.

Nik pocketed a 57 break in his 59-11 win over Damien Hilder.

The surprise result of week 14 was the 5-0 home loss of Glastonbury C by Meads A. Gavin Pierce, Paul Denness, Kevin Walbrin, Dave Field and Mark James recorded the winning frames for Meads A.

Seaford Con Club resigned Fishermens E to another loss. Gary Page, Nick Cox, Sean Payne, and Andy Coe had the Con Club Wins.

Colin Bray prevented the whitewash with a last frame 68-35 win over Mick Walsh.

Nuthouse B won the first three frames against Polegate Legion A with wins from Gary Callingham, Barry Pugh and Dave Lee. The Legion skipper Mark Saunders and Gary Jones took the two points for the Legion outfit.

Glastonbury A were the visitors at the Angling Club to play the A Team. Glastonbury came out 3-2 winners with Matt Soper, Matt Smith and Paul Croft recording the wins for the visitors.

Peter Lavington, along with Dave Pain, replied for the home team.

Nuthouse A kept up their near top of the table position with a 3-2 home victory over Eastbourne Workingmens A.

Martin Halpin, Marcel Compton and the last frame match win from Martin Noakes on the black 39-36 against Trevor Binks.

Brian Bearne took the other Workers’ point with a 51-9 win over Wayne Westcott.
