HELLINGLY Rugby Club is about to embark on life at a higher level.
The 2011/12 Sussex Two East champions will kick-off their 2012/13 Sussex Intermediate League campaign with a home game against Plumpton on Saturday.
Hellingly will be keen to pick up where they left off last term when they won 17 of their 18 league games and made it a double celebration by lifting the Sussex Plate.
Plumpton, incidentally, came fourth in a very congested Sussex Intermediate League table last time out with 10 wins and a draw from their 22 league matches.
A Hellingly XV contested a warm-up game away to Sussex One side Seaford on Saturday, losing 64-17 despite opening the scoring with a try in the first five minutes.
Hellingly seconds, meanwhile, will kick-off their Sussex Three East programme with a trip to their Burgess Hill counterparts on Saturday. Hellingly came fourth last term, two places above their opponents.
