THREE Hailsham-based karate playerss have been selected to become part of the England squad heading to Greece for the WIKF European Championships 2012 in September.
Bailey Coomber and Mathew Elliot, both just 11 years old, and Chloe Sutherland, 19, have been picked to represent their country at the 16th European Championships in Athens later this year.
All three attend CMA Karate, a local club teaching complete martial arts and karate to youngsters and adults.
Bailey, Mathew and Chloe each underwent rigorous training and selections under the WIKF Chief Instructor Sensei John Wicks, 8th Dan.
The youngsters have to self-finance the travel and expenses of the trip and are looking to fund-raisers and sponsors to help cover the cost.
The club are working hard to collect money and are hosting a sponsored swim on July, 28 at the Freedom Leisure Centre in Hailsham.
They hope people will dig deep to help the three honoured youngsters achieve their dream of representing England on the European stage.
