Eastbourne Rugby Club welcome Gillingham Anchorians to Park Avenue tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm) for the final home game of the London Three South East season.

Eastbourne have enjoyed a solid first campaign back in the London leagues following their promotion as champions from the Sussex Spitfire last season.

The Blue and Golds are currently sixth in the league standings with 49 points with two games to go and could leapfrog tomorrow’s opponents Gillingham who are just one point above them in fifth place.

Both teams have won nine, drawn once and lost 10 from their 20 matches but Russ Aitkenhead’s side have a superior points difference.

Eastbourne have not played since their impressive 41-19 away victory at Park House on April 2 while Gillingham triumphed 25-13 against Cranbrook last time out.

Gillingham narrowly beat Eastbourne 29-24 in a hard fought match in the reverse fixture on December 19.

Eastbourne’s final match of the season is at Old Dunstonians on Saturday, April 23.

Bromley lead the way at the top of the table on 80 points, three ahead of second placed Heathfield and Waldron, Aylesford Bulls are third on 74.
