Brothers Henry and Gil Cordner came first and second in their age categories at the Big Dog 2012 Junior section of the Brighton Mountain Bike Race competition on Saturday 4th August.

Held at Stanmer Park, the two Eastbourne brothers were more than able to hold their own in their first competitive bike race against children from all over Sussex.

Henry, aged 8, managed a comfortable win and six-year-old Gil secured second place in spite of his chain coming off on the nail biting last stretch of the race.

Both attend Peal Power run by Shaun Reed at Eastbourne Sports Park every Friday 6pm.

It aims to teach children from six years upwards all aspects of cycling from road safety to mountain biking, bike maintenance and just being confident and having fun on a bike.
