The Eastbourne Lions Basketball club, formed last summer, are starting to make a real name for themselves in the Sussex youth league.
The U14 Lions team claimed their first victory recently against the Brighton Cougars 87-75. In the next match a confident Eastbourne Lions faced Bognor Royals and recorded a 100-72 triumph. At the Storm The Lions played with determination and proved too strong for with a 106-91 victory.
The U16 team followed in their younger counterparts footsteps.
Their first match against Storm ended 54-49 for Lions.
They soon enjoyed further success in the next match against Brighton Cougars. They clawed their way into the lead and held on for a 58-47 win.
U14 team coach Lukas Urbonavicius said, “We are proud and overwhelmed with the teams’ results and achievements so far.
“All players are keen to go further by attending every training session and working hard on preparation to upcoming games.”
The U16 coach Tomas Sidabra added,“Their commitment and determination are charging us with energy to continue our voluntary work day after day.”
