Eastbourne Eagles boss Trevor Geer was left dumbfounded after a topsy-turvy week for his team.
Having grabbed an against-all-odds victory away at Kings Lynn last Wednesday, the Eagles then threw away their unbeaten home record against the same opposition at the Arlington Stadium on Saturday night.
While his side still remains at the top of the Elite League table, Geer believes it was a massive opportunity wasted.
He said, “I’m very disappointed. Having pulled a fantastic result out of the bag away at Kings Lynn, where nobody expected us to win, to then go and lose the return leg on our our ground was a bitter pill to swallow.
“We had to call on substitute riders and late replacements which is never ideal. Everyone was away for one week, and I’ll make sure that we never end up in that position again.”
The Eagles now face a two-week break before their next meeting against Peterborough.”
