The 75th Eastbourne Open Ladies Bowls Tournament is being held this week in Princes Park.

The first was held in 1931 and, then as it still is today, was opened by the Mayor.

With a £300 first prize (thanks to the sponsors the Langham Hotel) up for grabs, it is hardly surprising that bowlers come from as far as London to take part.

The finals start at 9.30 on August 18. Spectators welcome and tea, coffee and sandwiches are available.
