There was a thrilling game at the Saffrons for the second XI, and Eastbourne were very unlucky not to emerge with the victory their performance deserved.
Eastbourne batted first and the returning Jon Purdey led the way with a fine innings of 100 as Eastbourne went on to make 227 for two.
Darren Cumming (50) and Martyn Garnett (65) also contributed well.
In reply, Cuckfield were 227 when they lost their final wicket as a thrilling match ended in a draw.
