Tulley on target for Glenmuir

Eastbourne golfer Maria Tulley was placed third at the at the first WPGA Tour event of the 2012 calender.

A level par round at Dunham Forest in Manchester was enough to take third prize and qualify for the prestigious Glenmuir Championships to be held at De Vere Carden Park in Cheshire on August 9-10.

Tulley said, “I was seven shots better than last so it’s a great improvement. I was two-under at one point so it could have been better but overall I’m happy with third. The target was a top seven finish to qualify for Glenmuir, I achieved that so I’m really pleased.”

Tullley will also be teeing up in Barcelona in June on the Spanish Ladies Banesto Tour. June will also see her attempt to qualfy for the Rioch Women’s British Open at Hoylake in September.

Tulley added, “I’ve got a lot coming up and I’m looking forward to the challenge. My golf is the best it’s been since I moved here from Cornwall.

“I have been working hard on my game and I would like to thank my coach Richard Allen for that.”
