Former Eastbourne Borough manger Garry Wilson has made a return to football with Eastbourne Town.
Wilson, 49, has agreed to join the Ryman League Division One side as assistant manager to Danny Bloor.
He was introduced to the players on Tuesday night at training and took his place in the dugout for Eastbourne Town’s home fixture against Merstham.
Wilson will continue his scouting duties with the Scotish FA alongside his role at the Saffrons.
Wilson said, “This is a perfect fit for me and I hope I can bring a few things to the table for Eastbourne Town. I like what they are doing here and I am excited by the challenge.
“He added, “I have no problem being a number-two. I am not an ego man I am a football man and I am looking forward to working with Danny (Bloor). I have had a break from management after Borough and I’m now refreshed and ready to go again.”
Bloor said, “I am delighted Garry will be joining us. I contacted him after Simmonds left and I am pleased to get Garry on board. He has tremendous experience of non-league football and has enjoyed a great deal of success. I’m sure the players will enjoy working with him and learn a lot from him. I’m looking forward to working with him and I think I will be a better manager for having him around.”
