United take the derby day spoils

Eastbourne United celebrate the solitary goal that gave them victory over local rivals Hailsham Town.

Eastbourne United celebrate the solitary goal that gave them victory over local rivals Hailsham Town.

HAILSHAM Town manager Kenny McCreadie will be demanding a big improvement from his team this week as they welcome Wick.

The boss said too many of his team were off the pace in the Easter Monday derby at Eastbourne United but with several players returning this week was looking to get back on the winning trail.

Captain Ashley Jarvis could well return to action while the manager hopes Danny Leach would be fit enough to lead the line after suffering concussion at the Oval

Three points would almost certainly clinch second spot for Hailsham who would then have two away fixtures left - at Rustington and Dorking Wanderers.

“It’s been a great season and it would be nice to finish with three victories”, Kenny told the Herald.
