With all three senior football clubs making blistering starts to their respective campaigns, local football fans are spoilt for choice.

Unbeaten Eastbourne Borough sit proudly on top of the Vanarama South, while in the County League, Eastbourne United are top having won all five of their opening fixtures.

Eastbourne Town are not far behind as John Lambert’s men are just three points back in fifth place.

All three teams are in action this weekend; Borough are on the road to Maidenhead while Town travel to Ryman outfit Burgess Hill in the FA Cup.

United are the only team at home on Saturday and will certainly fancy their chances of causing an FA Cup upset in a tasty-looking fixture against Ryman League side Hastings United.

With four wins and a goal difference of +13, Simon Rowland’s side are well worth a look this season.

The County League division two champions enjoyed tremendous runs in the cup competitions last year and will relish the prospect of welcoming Hastings to the Oval. Ex-United player Sean Ray is expected to feature for Hastings.
