Eastbourne Town continued their recent run of success against a top of the league Littlehampton team.
John Lambert’s men came up against two former Town players - David O’Callaghan and Richard Greenfield but Town continued their habit of scoring early this season and it as Dom Clarke netted after just six minutes.
Littlehampton worked their way back into the game and equalised after 24 minutes through Michael Hendrick.
Town hit back with two in quick sucession through Matthew Maclean on 40 minutes, his second in sucessive games, and the irrepressible Dom Clarke on 42 minutes.
With Eastbourne now in control of the game Littlehampton’s Shay Wiggins was red carded in controversial circumstances.
Wiggins had already been booked and had to go off for a blood injury. He returned to the field of play without getting the referee’s consent and was sent off for a second ye
low - though technically correct it seemed harsh and the game was effectively put out of Littlehampton’s reach.
With Littlehampton down to 10-men Eastbourne cruised the second half with goal machine Liam Baitup getting Eastbourne’s fourth and final goal to make it 4-1 at full time, inflicting Littlehampton’s first home defeat of the season.
Another great performance from the yellow and blues.
