Eastbourne United AFC will face Ampthill of the South Midlands Premier Division if they reach the FA Vase quarter-final.
They learned their fate on Monday afternoon but will have to negotiate the last 16 tie with Morpeth Town before they can begin to look forward to it.
The game with Morpeth, which was due to be played last Saturday, was rained off and has been rearranged for this coming weekend, February 22.
It’s a tough draw for Simon Rowland’s men, with Ampthill currently on the crest of a wave that has seen them to the summit of their league and, after a 3-1 victory over league rivals Hanwell Town on Saturday, into the Vase quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
They are prolific in front of goal having scored 88 goals in just 28 league games.
United, however, will have home advantage but, once again, face the prospect of having to shell out for the visitors’ travel and accommodation.
Meanwhile, Eastbourne Borough’s Skrill South match with Boreham Wood was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch at the the Broughinge Road stadium.
Borough have not played since their 1-0 home to defeat to Dorchester as their midweek trip to Bromley was also called off at late notice.
Tommy Widdrington’s eighth placed side are next in action on Saturday when they welcome Sutton United to Priory Lane before their Tuesday night trip to Gosport.
In the Ryman League division one south, Town host Crawley Down Gatwick on Wednesday night and on Saturday make the journey to Sittingbourne.
Andy Goodchild’s Hailsham Town are also hoping to return to action this week after the season has been also been interupted by postponments.On Thursday night Hailsham visit County League division one rivals Rye United ahead of their home clash with Chichester on Saturday.
In division two Eastbourne United AFC go to basement club Saltdean tonight (Tuesday) before their crucial Vase clash with Morpeth Town.
Elsewhere in division two third from bottom Seaford Town travel to AFC Uckfield on Saturday.
