Hailsham Town rounded off a perfect Easter weekend with a 3-1 victory over rivals Ringmer at the Beaconsfield on bank holiday Monday.
The victory follows Saturday’s 1-0 win at Shoreham, with the Stringer’s leapfrogging their neighbours who replace them in the Sussex Division One relegation zone.
Hailsham are now fourth-bottom on 33 points, two ahead of Ringmer. Both sides have three games left to play and the Stringers will go into the run-in knowing their fate is in their own hands. With games to come against Littlehampton, and Dorking Wanderers - both of whom are nailed on for promotion - before a clash with relegated Selsey, Hailsham will be confident of getting the points they need to stay up.
Ringmer have a tricky home tie with East Preston before hosting Horsham YMCA and going to Pagham.
They are equally capable, though, and took the lead after nine minutes at the Beaconsfield through Jamie Stevens. But SamDivall grabbed the equaliser in the 24th minute before Jamie Salvidge put Hialsham in front. Danny Leach made sure of three precious points with just ten minutes left to play.
