New Eastbourne Town striker Dan Smith is expected to make his debut at Three Bridges on New Year’s Day.
Smith, described as a ‘good old fashioned striker’ was signed from Hassocks recently and could partner top-scorer Danny Curd.
The former Hassocks man watched from the stands as Town recorded a fine Ryman League division one south Sussex derby 2-1 win against Burgess Hill.
He was due to play against Folkestone on Saturday but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Saffrons.
“Bloor said, “I think they (Curd and Smith) can be a very useful combination for us.
“If we can get the right service to them, I’m sure they can get us the goals.
“We need to start moving up the table.”
Town are fifth from bottom in the table on 22 points from 19 games.
Eastbourne United are next in County League division two action when Paul Daubeney’s highflyers travel to Bexhill for an evening kick-off on Wednesday, January 2.
Seaford Town travel to Oakwood and Hailsham Town make the trip to Sidley for a 7.45pm kick-off.
