Showbiz stars sign up for charity match

Stars from TV and music, including actors from EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road, will swap the film set and recording studio for The Oval on Sunday, August 4 as they take on a team of Eastbourne United AFC Veterans for a charity match in aid of Once Upon A Smile – an organisation that supports families who have suffered the loss of a parent or child from a long term or terminal illness.

The match returns after a two year absence and will mark the ten year anniversary of celebrity charity football in Eastbourne and will be the biggest and best event so far.

Confirmed stars to attend so far include former Emmerdale star Danny miller, Will Rush and Jack McMullen from Waterloo Road, Nico Mallegro from The Village and currently on

screen in cinemas now Spike Island, along with Jay Kontzle from boy band The Mend with many more to come.

The final squad will be subject to filming schedules but a list of current players can be found at www.charityfootball.co.uk. Co-Founder and Chief Ambassador of Once Upon A Smile, Danny Miller, said, “The Once Upon A Smile boys are more than excited to being coming back to Eastbourne to raise money for such a great cause. I personally look forward to it and hope you can join in us to have a fun day.”

There will also be a BBQ, freshly whipped ice cream and a fully-licensed bar. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £3 Children and Family Tickets £14 (2 adults & 2 children).

Tickets are selling well and can be purchased on the day.
