It may sound more like a 1970s cop show but Shearing & Hutch are all set to join forces for Worthing United’s County League division one campaign.
Dave Shearing and Tobi Hutchinson will patrol the technical areas of Sussex football grounds rather than the streets of Los Angeles, and the duo insist they are the right combination to police Worthing.
“I’m really enthusiastic about this,” Hutchinson said. “Dave and I will both bring in different attributes to push the club forward.
“Its going to be difficult, we have been left with almost nothing. But I have been building up contacts and I think we can build a strong team.”
Shearing, who recently left County League two outfit Steyning after helping them avoid the drop added, “I’ll take a few players with me but we are looking for as many good players as possible to take the club forward.”
The duo replace Dom Di Paola who stepped down following the Mavericks’ promotion at the end of last season.
