Eastbourne United boss Simon Rowland thinks his side are set for a surge up the league if they can emulate their performance in the Sussex Cup on Tuesday night.
The narrow 1-0 win at Crowborough Athletic doesn’t tell the whole story as United dominated from start to finish and Rowland was delighted with the performance ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Broadbridge Heath in Sussex Division Two.
“It wouldn’t have been an injustice if we’d have walked off 8-0 winners. We played really well,” he said.
“The way we’re playing at the moment, we’re slowly finding form as one of the better teams in the league.”
Lucas Mann scored the only goal of the game and is set to lead the line again tomorrow. He will face competition from the returning Wade Eason, while Bailo Camara is set for a return to league action after missing last week’s 6-0 demolition of Selsey. Joe Summerbell could continue in the middle of the park after impressing on his debut last week but Dean Stevens is back to bolster a midfield that is now brimming with options. Influential centre-back Mike Gardener is also set fro a return. Kick off is 3pm at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre
