Eastbourne United boss Simon Rowland was this week delighted to announce the signing of sought-after centre forward Ryan McBride.
The striker, who has been part of three Sussex County Football League Division Oe winning sides, played in Tuesday’s 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat at the hands of Hastings and put pen to paper on a deal at the Oval immediately after the match.
Boss Rowland said, “Both Pricey (assistant manager Scott Price) and I are really pleased to secure the signing of a really talented player in Ryan.
“I have played with him and he is one of the most gifted centre forwards I have played alongside. His touch and ability to score goals is second to none.
“He brings others into the game and is one of only two players outside Ryman football who can occupt two defenders. He will be a huge asset for the club this season.
“He has shown his commitment to our project by turning down the opportunity to play Ryman League football.”
