It was a bitter sweet experience for England C captian James Norwood in Turkey on Tuesday night.
The former Eastbourne Town and Borough striker was selected to captain the England C Team for the first time at the Basaksehir Fatih Stadium in Istanbul.
The 24-year-old Forest Green striker and his teammates suffered a 2-0 defeat and he was also sent-off for two yellow cards as England were knocked out of the International Challenge Trophy
Galatasaray’s Champions League midfielder Emre Colak was the star of the show and scored both goals for Turkey.
The result also confirmed Turkey’s qualification to the tournament’s latter stages along with Slovakia. Paul Fairclough’s England C side are next in action against Estonia on Tuesday, November 18 .
