Eastbourne Town striker Billy Medlock claimed his 15th goal of the season but his side were comfortably beaten at league leaders Peacehaven on Boxing Day.
It took just 10 minutes for the Ryman League division one south pacesetters to open their account against Town who are second from bottom in the table.
A cross was delivered from the right and ex-Southampton player Craig Richards bundled the ball over the goal line for a scrappy opener.
However, four minutes later and Town hit back. Andrew Mensah looked lively and he beat three defenders before he teed-up the in-form Medlock to fire home from the edge of the box.
A full scale scuffle then ensued after a bizarre incident that saw Town defender Tyrone Berry picked-up and thrown into the advertising boards by a Peacehaven player. After order was restored Berry strangely received a yellow card.
Charlie Walker added a second from the penalty spot and Richards scored his second and the home sides third with a header from a corner.
Walker completed the scoring for Peacehaven with a fourth on 50 minutes.
Town: Broadbent, Salami, Sutton (Sachies), Lansdale, Davidson (Maybank), Pollard, Berry, Hall, Mensah (Schaff) Medlock, Watson.
