A Danny Leach hat-trick helped Hailsham Town to their first league win in seven matches at Division One basement boys Selsey on Saturday.
The Stringers made hard work of it, however, as they let a two goal lead slip before turning it around in the final five minutes.
Leach opened the scoring after 17 minutes before Sam Divall doubled the lead just four minutes later.
But things started to unravel when David Rough reduced the deficit and Toby Lempriere levelled things up. On the stroke of half-time, Hailsham were dealt a massive blow as James Parsons put them in front.
While boss Andy Goodchild was sacked after the game, his half-time team talk got a response as Leach struck in the 85th minute and scored the winner at the death.
