Eastbourne Borough boss Tommy Widdrington said his team have to start on the ‘B of the bang’ if they are going to climb away from the relegation zone.
Two first half goals from Sutton gave visiting Eastbourne Borough far too much work to do which ultimately cost them another painful defeat.
“I don’t want us to have to go two goals behind before we start playing. We have to start on the B of the bang and not wait for teams to come on to us.
“The way we played in the first half gave us no claim to win any match. It was a poor start and we defended poorly.
“I was pleased with the way we re-grouped and in the second half we had enough chances to win the game let alone pull level.”
Widdrington was also disappointed with the match officials as key decisions went against them.
“I have no arguments for their penalty. It was poor defending from us. The player went to ground and the forward made it look like a penalty - no complaints.
“However, I felt we should have had two penalties in the second half but at the moment we are getting nothing.
“It seems to be going that way for us at the moment but we have to get through this patch.
“One thing is for sure we will not start so slowly on Tuesday. It’s (Bath) a very big game for us now.”
