Borough boss Tommy Widdrington was delighted with his side following their away point in the opening game of the season.
Borough were missing their two main centre backs Ian Simpemba (suspended) and Adam Watts (injured). Star summer signing Charlie Losasso also missed the game as did Sam Beale.
Borough’s preparations were hit further as Widdrington didn’t get to the ground for until 2.20pm as he was stuck in traffic.
The boss said, “I’m very pleased with a point and I thought we thoroughly deserved it.
“I said to the players that it was all about the performance today. What the lads gave today from minute one to minute 91 was fantastic.
“They were perhaps more sprightly than us in the first half but we kept going. We created chances and when they didn’t go in I thought I might be one of those days.
“Their goalie made a number of good save and at time our finishing was a bit wasteful.
“But Dean came on and took his chance well. They tell me the lad can’t header a ball but he certainly did when it mattered. But I can’t single anyone out the whole team deserve credit today for the performance.”
