It looks as if it’s shaping up to be one of those seasons for Eastbourne Borough.
A few games ago Borough lost 4-0 at Havant while their next away trip yielded three points thanks to a 5-1 success at Basingstoke - sandwiched inbetween was a 0-0 home draw against Truro.
Tuesday’s 4-1 home defeat to an impressive Margate outfit was another blow but it would seem foolish to write off Borough’s chances of picking up points at highflying Oxford City this Saturday.
Wildly contrasting results can bring frustration but it is sure to deliver excitement for the Borough faithful in what is without doubt a highly competitive Vanarama National League South this season.
Tommy Widdrington’s men are ninth in the league standings having gathered 16 points from 10 matches while Oxford are second with 21 points from 10. City have adapted well to life in the Southern League this season and are unbeaten in their last five matches. On Tuesday night they enjoyed a 2-1 home victory against Dartford.
Which Borough will turn-up - who knows? But it’s likely to be a fun finding out.
Kick-off at Marsh Lane is 3pm.
