Anwar Uddin has become the latest face to leave Eastbourne Borough this summer as he contemplates a new challenge.
The ex-Barnet defender joined the Sports in June of last year and made 37 appearances for the club in the heart of defence before dropping out of favour towards the tail end of the campaign.
Borough boss Tommy Widdrington said, “Anwar’s come to a crossroads in his career. He does a lot of work with the PFA, travelling around the country a lot, and now there’s the possibility of a coaching role for him at a Premier League club that he used to play for, which is something he has to consider. With all that, he couldn’t commit to what I required from him.
“He was a pleasure to work with, had a positive influence in the dressing room and he deserves a lot of credit.”
Uddin’s departure comes after the arrival of centre-back Ian Simpemba, who put pen to paper last week to join the Sports from Dover Athletic.
