Time to clean up against Bath City

Borough boss Tommy Widdrington described tonight’s (Tuesday) clash against Bath City as ‘crucial’ following back to back 2-0 defeats.

Widdrington’s men are languishing in 19th position in the league standings following Saturdays’ defeat and the boss admitted it placed more importance on tonight’s fixture against Bath.

The visitors are one of a host of teams lingering in the very congested mid table area of the Blue Square South.

They will no doubt arrive full of confidence following their 3-0 home victory against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday.

Widdrington said, “It’s a key game for us, no doubt about that.

“One thing is for sure, the way we started in Sutton, that will not be happening again!”

Of the Sutton match, he added, “Both teams had claims to have won the game, but they’ve put the ball in the net twice and we haven’t.

“We were on the front foot for the whole of the second half and we’ve created more chances than Sutton.

“We were on the wrong end of some decisions, but if we continue to work hard enough, we will make our own luck.”
