T ommy Widdrington praised the aggression his side showed on Tuesday night but insisted they still need to be more clinical in front of goal.
After watching his side dictate the field during their cup clash with Horsham but only triumph by the single goal, the Borough boss highlighted actions in the final third as an area to improve before they play their next competitive match, against Bath, in a fortnight’s time.
He said, “In the same way the Dover defeat was never a 3-0, this was never a 1-0. We should’ve scored more, without a doubt.
“I thought our build-up play in the first half was excellent and we are becoming more aggressive and more competititive.
“What we still need to do is be more clinical and ruthless in front of goal.
“We progressed up the pitch well but I felt the second half was a bit flat.
“Obviously, we’re delighted to progress to the next stage. “
