A FORMER loan striker has returned to Eastbourne Borough on a permanent basis.
Borough this week signed Ian Pulman who made 16 appearances at Priory Lane on loan from Margate five years ago when the Kent club were in the Conference.
Borough were then in the Southern League and Pulman netted four times for Garry Wilson’s team.
Since then the former Chelsea youngster has had experience of football in Australia, playing for Melbourne Knights.
He returned to England to play for his home town club Whitstable Town in Ryman division one South scoring 30 goals for them in all competitions last season.
Head coach Nick Greenwood said, “We know all about Ian. We have followed his progress since his return from Australia and although Whitstable had a difficult season, he still managed to score 30 goals for them, including a hat-trick against Eastbourne Town.
“We are confident that he can step up and score goals in Conference South.”
Greenwood also revealed that they were in the final stages of negotiation with many existing players as well as new arrivals.
“We have shaken hands on deals, but in many cases we are waiting for players to return from holidays and sign on.
“I am sure we will soon be able to release news our supporters will want to hear,” added Greenwood.
Priory Lane will host this seasons U18 and reserve trials, starting June 21. First year 18s attend on June 21 and 23 (6.30pm). June 28 will see second year U18s and reserve triallists invited to Priory Lane, Reserves and both U18s will attend on June 30.
