Chris Shephard will miss Eastbourne Borough’s match on Saturday against Havant & Waterlooville with a cracked rib.
The midfielder was taken off at half-time in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Ebbsfleet United, and missed the defeats at Chelmsford and against Dover.
After the match in Ebbsfleet, Shephard was seen by a doctor who confirmed the injury. The 24-year-old also had the injury confirmed by a GP and was at the Eastbourne DGH on Thursday for a further check-up.
Shephard has been told to rest for three to four weeks in order to help the healing process.
Shephard said, “I tried training today (Thursday). I did a bit of running but when it got a bit more intense it became quite painful.”
The creative midfielder hopes to be availbale for selection on November 2 when Borough welcome Maidenhead to Priory Lane. Shephard has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
He has scored five goals, three of which were against Farnborough in their 5-2 league victory.
He also scored against Farnborough in the FA Cup and against Ebbsfleet during the 1-1 draw in the league.
