Eastbourne Borough have re-signed left back Sam Cole for the 2013-14 season.
Cole had begun pre-season training with Borough but until the weekend, had not signed a deal with Tommy Widdrington’s side. The Borough boss said,
“I am very pleased that Sam has agreed to stay with us at The Lane.
“He fits the profile that we are trying to establish with regard to age, and its always good to retain local players with the right attitude and ability at the club.”
Cole was a regular feature in the Borough first team last season and has made 88 appearances for the sports.
The 21-year-old was signed from County League side Rye United in 2011 by previous manager Garry Wilson. Cole was part of the Rye side which finished second in Division One of the County League and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.
Borough will begin the preseason campaign on Saturday away at EVO-STIK Southern League Premier Division outfit AFC Totton.
On Tuesday, July 23 they make the short trip to the Saffrons to face Eastbourne Town (7.45pm) before they travel to Worthing on Saturday, July 27.
