Eastbourne Borough chairman Len Smith believes the club are close to securing a new shirt sponsor for the coming season.
It was hoped the new backer would be place for the first game tomorrow (Saturday)but the deal is expected to be finalised within two weeks.
East Sussex firm Best Demolition will continue their long standing involvement with the club alongside the new sponsor.
Chairman Smith said, “It’s all looking very positive and we hope to get everything finalised very soon. It has been a bit tricky with people away on holiday this time of year but I would say we are very close.
“We are talking reasonable figures that will help us to be competitive in the league. Financially it’s still difficult. Running a football club doesn’t get cheaper so this should certainly help us move forward.”
The deal is not expected to include naming rights for the stadium.
On the pitch, Smith is hoping to build on the feel good factor of last season and is aiming for a play-off spot.
“Obviously the aim is year-on-year improvement. Top 10 was the target last season and for the most part we did that. If we can improve on that then we are close to the play-offs and let’s see where that can take us.”
