Two goals and an assist from Pete Cooper ensured three points for Eastbourne United AFC against previously unbeaten Newhaven at The Oval.
United struck the first blow against the Division Three Champions when Mark Goodwin slid the ball home after just seven minutes.
The lead was doubled as Cooper despatched a penalty following a foul inside the box on strike partner Liam Baitup.
Newhaven got themselves back into the fixture just after half time as the impressive Lee Robinson continued his form of scoring in every league fixture this season as he fired home at the back post to reduce the difference to just a single goal.
United upped their game and were rewarded three minutes later when Liam Baitup rose highest to head home his ninth of the season following an inch perfect cross from Cooper.
United rounded off the victory on 85 minutes with the goal of the match, as centre back Pete Featherstone found himself in plenty of space to unleash a unstoppable drive from 30 yards to make the score 5-1
