Eastbourne United manager Paul Daubeney is hoping his team can get the job done in 90 minutes this week.

United needed extra time to squeeze past Oakwood last Saturday in the RUR Cup and tomorrow take on Midhurst & Easebourne in the Parafix Sussex Senior Cup.

“We don’t want to go to extra time again, although we are a fit team, we definitely want to get it over in 90 minutes.”

The sides are currently separated by two points in the league, but the United boss isn’t too sure what to expect from Midhurst & Easebourne.

“They’re just below us and are a bit of a strange side. They’ve been quite free-scoring so far, but do tend to concede.”

United will be looking for their fourth win in a row, while Midhurst will want to avoid their third loss in as many games.

Daubeney is looking to welcome back Mark Goodwin, who missed out on last week’s cup win, as well as strengthen his pack.

“We’re hoping to bring in a wide player although it won’t be done by Saturday.”

With no fresh injury concerns, the squad are looking to gain some fluidity from regular football together as well as progression to the second round of the Sussex Senior Cup.

United resume their County League two campaign when they travel toBroadbridge Heath on Saturday, October 27.
